Life expectancy is increasing, but ageing remains inevitable and is associated with several illnesses: cancers, cardiovascular diseases (heart attack, stroke, etc.), neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, etc.) metabolic diseases (obesity, type 2 diabetes, etc.), and infections (SARS-CoV-2, Sepsis, etc.)
In the hope of changing this situation, several research teams of the University of Bordeaux are trying to better understand the ageing process and the onset of associated co-morbidities. The objective is to slow down the effect of ageing and improve the quality of life of older people.
In this context, the Bordeaux research community working on the biology and diseases of aging is organizing a day of scientific presentations and discussions on November 14 in the amphitheater of the BBS building. The aim of the event is to exchange scientific knowledge, inform the scientific community about this research theme and stimulate interdisciplinary interaction.
